What’s involved with being an openEHR International Board Director?

In addition to being an advocate of openEHR, openEHR International Board Directors support the company both financially and in kind.

They are current members, and collectively represent the different membership levels, and are nominated to the Board by openEHR membership. Nominations are run annually.

Directors are responsible for the strategic direction of the company’s business, making collective decisions both at Board meetings and ongoing using a Board discussion forum.

The post runs for 2-years, at the end of which people can re-stand for nomination or retire; although you can resign at any time.

Board meetings are held monthly for 2-hours by Zoom Conferencing, with occasional additional meetings.

Board positions are not paid, but any agreed expenses incurred on behalf of openEHR are reimbursed.

Directors take on actions to help meet the needs of openEHR strategy and management. As a guide, in addition to Board meetings, we suggest that individuals are able to commitment an 1-hour per week and possibly more.
